Who we are
Narrative Public Affairs ("we", "us") runs this website and the campaigns on it. This page explains what we collect when you take action with us, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
- What you give us
- Your name, email address, and anything else the form you filled in asked for — a postal address or phone number, for example. You choose what to enter.
- The action you took
- Which petition you signed, event you joined or form you completed, and when.
- How you arrived
- If you reached us from an advertisement or a shared link, we record which one, so we know which appeals actually work.
- Public records we match
- For some campaigns we match supporters to publicly available records, such as which district you vote in, so we can show decision-makers who in their own constituency is asking for something.
Why we collect it
- To deliver the action you took to the person it is aimed at.
- To tell you what happened next, and to ask you to do more.
- To understand which of our appeals work, so we spend our supporters' money well.
- To show, in aggregate, how many people in a place support something.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your personal information.
We use service providers to run this site and to send email and text messages on our behalf, and they may only use your information to provide that service to us. Where a campaign delivers your action to a decision-maker, what you submitted is delivered with it — that is the point of taking the action.
If we advertise, we may share a securely hashed version of your email address with an advertising platform so it can avoid showing you an appeal you have already answered.
Your choices
- Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
- Reply STOP to any text message and we stop texting you.
- Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working and to remember that you arrived from a particular link or advertisement, so we can tell which appeals worked. We do not use them to build a profile of you across other people's websites.
